Dr. William D. Stimack, N.M.D.
Biography
William D. Stimack is a native of Pennsylvania, but has lived in Northwestern Indiana for most of his life. He was born on January 1, 1941, in Palmer, Pennsylvania and moved to Gary, Indiana with his family when he was 13. He attended high school in Gary and was a member of the class of 1958. After graduation he entered the United States Marine Corps, where he served with distinction for three years as a cryptographer with top secret clearance. After attending Indiana University-Northwest and Purdue University-Calumet, he then embarked on a very successful career in sales, marketing and consulting that lasted many years until he became concerned about health problems in his family that were not being successfully treated by conventional means. He decided to learn all he could about complementary and alternative medicine, or as he likes to call it, integrated medicine. That quest for knowledge led to a career change. He studied hard to earn both a doctorate in natural medicine from the Arkansas College of Natural Health, and a doctorate in naturopathy from the Southern College of Naturopathy, graduating with a 4.0 grade point average from each program. Dr. Stimack completed his clinical studies through a residential program in Manzanillo, Mexico, and started his career with a major nutrition company in Florida traveling the country conducting nutritional seminars. He then took a position with a major insurance company conducting a study that evaluated alternative medicine, and later worked with a doctor of internal medicine in an allopathic clinic and integrated allopathic medical care with naturopathic medicine. His success in that office led to the opening of a private practice in both Valparaiso, Indiana, and in Chicago, Illinois, which has kept him very busy for the past seven years.
Dr. Stimack is certified by the American Naturopathic Medical Certification and Accreditation Board and is licensed as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in North Carolina and in Washington D.C. He is a graduate of fingernail and tongue analysis in the tsu-tsar-chi method, and a certified Chinese herbalist. In addition to being a diplomat member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants, he is a member of the American Naturopathic Medical Association, a member of the American Association of Oxidative Medicine, and a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. In addition, Dr. Stimack is the Director of Nutrition for the Southern College of Naturopathy, and has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars throughout the United States, with his principal themes being nutrition, immune system rebuilding, the nature of diseases, weight loss, arthritis, detoxification, and hydration. He is particularly keen on addressing the idea to “let medicine be your food and let your food be your medicine,” and in 2003 he was the keynote speaker at a seminar in Phoenix, Arizona that was entitled “Advancements in Foundational Therapy.” His speech dealt with “Silent Killers…and their Cures,” and was very well-received for its inspiring and thought-provoking content.
In his practice, Dr. Stimack's primary objectives are to detoxify the body and to rebuild the immune system in order to allow the body to defend itself naturally and maintain an optimal state of wellness. He does not attempt to diagnose disease. Instead, he works on finding and identifying the root causes of illness. He constantly seeks to explore the connections between “mind, body, and spirit,” and has achieved fantastic results in helping people to reach their ideal levels of physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.
Dr. Stimack has written a book entitled “Tell Me How Long You Want to Live and I'll Tell You What to Eat to Get There.” He is currently completing his new book on Chelation and hydration.
